Walking Football is an everything you love about football, the only difference is that it is a foul to run!

If you think your footballing days are over then think again! Walking football is designed to give you the chance to play the game you love but reduce the chances of injury. It's an adapted format of the beautiful game aimed at providing light physical activity, providing a great way to keep fit, learn skills, have fun and socialise all at the same time!

So, if you used to play football but now find the pace a bit too much or if you’ve never had the chance to be involved before, walking football is the perfect introduction to playing football for you.

The project is designed and funded for women living in the Highlands, aged 18 years and over, who are experiencing any of the following:

•Low self-esteem

•Feelings of isolation

•Lacking in confidence or motivation

•Low mood or anxiety

The Women's Cycle to Health project aims to increase women’s mental and physical well-being through supportive, regular group bike rides and welcomes riders of all abilities.

Cycling is a sociable activity and a great way to meet new people. It can be fun and give you a real sense of freedom. Cycling can improve your physical fitness and help you lose weight. The sense of achievement gained from engaging in cycling can help boost confidence and self esteem.

If you can't ride a bike at all we can teach you. If you need a bit of a boost to get back on your bike we can do that too. Whatever level you are at, the aim is to give you the skills and confidence to get out, ride safely and feel better.

We can provide a bike, bike helmet and waterproofs, if required.

You don't need to be fit to join this project, just a willingness to ride a bike.

If you would like more information or would like to register your interest in the project please phone or email

Once we have been notified of your interest, we will contact you to arrange a one to one meeting as soon as possible. Following the one to one, if it is agreed that the project is suitable, we will offer you a place in a group. This may happen quickly or there could be a wait.

Meeting Times
   Wednesday : 0900 to 1700
   Thursday : 0900 to 1700

Note
Following the initial rides, there is the opportunity to stay part of the group with regular Wednesday evening and Saturday morning rides.

On the first Wednesday evening of every month there will be a women's only workshop session.
