What is it? It is a chance for, well, men mostly to meet for a blether over a drink at one of the pubs near the church.

Sometimes we talk about weighty matters of religion or state but other times….we don’t. So as to avoid accusations of excess, we meet just once a month.

There are no membership duties. Just turn up.

The drink is Basically Beer, it must be said, but in a flood of political correctness, a Strong Sparkling water is quite in order.

On the last Thursday of the month.

Originally conceived as an opportunity for fellowship for men on the fringes of the church and to give them a chance to get to know the minister better, it still has that aim but the membership is now as varied as the numbers, anything from three to thirteen currently.

How hard it is to avoid the M word, membership! There is no membership of Mostly Men. You just turn up.

Volunteer van drivers and walking companions are most welcome (references reqd.).

The project is designed and funded for women living in the Highlands, aged 18 years and over, who are experiencing any of the following:

•Low self-esteem

•Feelings of isolation

•Lacking in confidence or motivation

•Low mood or anxiety

The Women's Cycle to Health project aims to increase women’s mental and physical well-being through supportive, regular group bike rides and welcomes riders of all abilities.

Cycling is a sociable activity and a great way to meet new people. It can be fun and give you a real sense of freedom. Cycling can improve your physical fitness and help you lose weight. The sense of achievement gained from engaging in cycling can help boost confidence and self esteem.

If you can't ride a bike at all we can teach you. If you need a bit of a boost to get back on your bike we can do that too. Whatever level you are at, the aim is to give you the skills and confidence to get out, ride safely and feel better.

We can provide a bike, bike helmet and waterproofs, if required.

You don't need to be fit to join this project, just a willingness to ride a bike.

If you would like more information or would like to register your interest in the project please phone or email

Once we have been notified of your interest, we will contact you to arrange a one to one meeting as soon as possible. Following the one to one, if it is agreed that the project is suitable, we will offer you a place in a group. This may happen quickly or there could be a wait.

Thursday from : 0900 to 1700 Weekly

Following the initial rides, there is the opportunity to stay part of the group with regular Wednesday evening and Saturday morning rides.

On the first Wednesday evening of every month there will be a women's only workshop session.
